In Hindu dharma, the cow is considered the embodiment of all gods. Offering Gau Sewa is one of the highest forms of worship, especially during the sacred period of Shradh or Pitru Paksha, when the blessings of our ancestors are most sought. By feeding cows, we not only honor our forefathers but also all the deities they represent.
Pitru Paksha is the most sacred time of the year to offer shraddha and food in remembrance of our forefathers. Our scriptures clearly say that when we serve food to the elderly during Pitru Paksha, it is as though we are directly serving our own parents and ancestors.
